Give your child the best opportunity to develop academically, spiritually and socially.
Christ the King Primary strives for academic excellence and provides many opportunities for students to participate in extracurricular activities. Our school enjoys a strong reputation in the local community for academic excellence, the faith development of our children, and the strength of the parent teacher partnership in education.
We are proud of our strong community. It is made up of positive and enthusiastic students, supportive parents, talented and highly skilled staff, and a supportive parish priest, who all work together to build our spirit-filled community.
As our school song proclaims, Christ the King Primary is indeed a 'community of love', with Christ as our centre.
A nurturing faith-filled community
Christ the King students are nurtured within a Christ-centred faith community. One which is committed to developing the whole person and providing quality teaching and learning.
Our students are at the centre of all we do at Christ the King, shown through our commitment to:
- treating students with respect and understanding
- encouraging independence, responsibility and self-discipline
- providing a safe and caring environment
- recognising and valuing each student's personal achievements
- supporting and assisting the students to realise their potential
Relevant and personalised learning
At Christ the King we believe that children learn best when they can integrate faith and life, when learning is engaging and modelled well, when children are affirmed by constructive feedback, and when they are encouraged to take risks and ask questions.
Christ the King Primary students are encouraged daily to become the best possible learners they can be, and are provided learning experiences and classroom environments that are conducive to this goal.
Opportunities beyond the classroom
Christ the King Primary children are involved in a wide range of special activities which aim to cater for the development of all our gifts and talents. The children are able to participate and succeed in numerous spheres which develop the 'whole' person.
We encourage our students to learn more than just the fundamentals and work to provide a range of extra-curricular activities to suit each child as an individual, while growing and nurturing their individual strengths and talents. Some of these activities include:
- Excursions and camps
- Life Education program (Infants)
- International Competitions of Australian Schools (ICAS)
- Band instrument lessons (Primary)
- Debating and other pursuits.
- Voice of Youth (public speaking)
- Cross country carnivals
