CTK Students Visit Life Education Mobile Education Centre

Infant students at Christ the King visited the Life Education mobile learning centre this week as a part of their Personal Development, Health and Physical Education syllabus.

The mission of Life Education is to empower our children and young people to make safer and healthier choices through education. They believe that prevention is the way to best help young people grow into healthy young adults who make good choices.

On Monday Kindergarten meet Healthy Harold for the first time. Healthy Harold is a giraffe who educates students on their level. They participated in the ‘My Body Matters” program which focuses on personal hygiene, a healthy, balanced diet, the importance of sleep and ways to keep safe. Year 1 completed the ‘Ready, Steady, Go’ program. Students were thrilled to hear Healthy Harold teach them about the benefits of physical activity, safety strategies in different areas, how our body reacts to new situations and the importance of good nutrition and sleep. Finally our Year 2 students welcomed Healthy Harold back in growing good friends program. This program builds on the information learnt in earlier years and includes showing students ways to explore positive relationships and how they have a benefit on our health and well being.

Below is a video of some of the students talking about their experience in the Life Education van.
