Beyond the Classroom

Our children at Christ the King Catholic Primary North Rocks, are involved in a wide range of special activities which aim to cater for the development of all our gifts and talents.

We encourage our students to learn more than just the fundamentals, providing them with the opportunities to develop a more holistic view to encompass social, emotional and spiritual aspects of life. In addition to our sporting activities, we provide students with the opportunity to extend themselves both inside and outside of the classroom, providing a range of activities that cater to the needs of each individual.

Extracurricular Activities

These activities are designed to develop the 'whole person' - we believe that development outside of the classroom is essential for young people. Currently, the activities that we facilitate include:

  • Voice of Youth (public speaking)
  • Cross country carnivals
  • Athletic carnivals
  • Life Education program
  • Netball and basketball gala days
  • Tennis
  • Excursions and camps
  • Chess
  • International Competitions of Australian Schools (ICAS)
  • Choir
  • Band instrument lessons
  • Debating and other pursuits.

School Celebrations

We have a number of celebrations throughout the year where parents are invited to the school to view our learning in action.

These celebrations provide students with the chance to showcase their work to visitors, while also allowing parents, grandparents and families an insight into the learning that takes place on a regular day-to-day basis at Christ the King. These celebrations include Catholic Schools Week, Book Week, Holy Week, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Grandparent's Day.

We believe that parents and families play an integral part in the education of their child. For more information about getting involved at Christ the King, please click here.
